Once someone realizes they can walk with God, the possibilities become endless. We like to think that the drunk laying in the gutter can clean up. Finally, he has someone who cares for him and can help him make better decisions. But the same goes for a king. The man standing on the proverbial top of the world stands to improve just as much. Our failure to see the truth lies in the direction of our gaze. If we weigh everything by worldly standards, wealth, power, or popularity, we are blind. Where the Maker and Savior of the World are found, our world and our thinking are pretty small.
God dwells far above imagination. He lives in realms where time, space, distance, and matter are all things he holds in His hand. Forces big enough to hold entire solar systems in perfect working order rush to obey His command. It would be ridiculous for mortals to claim any right to His presence. Except that it is exactly what the Scriptures call us to. It was God who said that we should set our sights that high.
Any believer anywhere has the potential to engage with the Divine. If we make it our priority to seek Him and come to know Him, it can happen. We are here today and gone tomorrow. But we can walk and talk with God. We can develop a relationship with Him. We can learn to hear His voice as He leads us safely to His side. Who is still willing to step up where the others will not? Let us choose the Lord as our daily companion. He has done so much to make it possible.
Dear Lord, we are prone to poor and limited sight. Please don´t let what we don´t see keep us from coming unto You. Let us hear Your call to draw near again. Move us inside to respond. Let us come close to You. Stir in the heavens and deep in our souls. Let Your children approach the throne and find grace today. Let those who care come and walk with You now. We pray! Amen.
