Every age has always had a few who take their relationship with God to a higher level. They may be few and far between. But God has special souls that seek Him harder than the rest. These blessed ones experience the Lord in ways that those with lesser desires won´t. Even among churchgoers, the vast majority simply don´t demand so much.
We can tell the caliber of our faith if we stop and take note. When we are questioned about where we stand with the Lord, what goes through our hearts? If we have a swift defense, there is still much ground to gain. If our first reaction is to run to God to find out from Him our answer, then we are already more tuned to Him.
The deciding factor is how much of our hearts are invested in the walk we have with God. If it truly concerns us, we will do something about it. If we find little interest in how much we are experiencing of God, then we already have what we are asking for. God searches the earth for hungry souls who seek to be with Him.
Dear Lord, every one of us could draw nearer to You. Give us, we pray, hearts that yearn for more. Let us ache, hunger, and thirst after You. Please grant us moments in Your presence so that we will crave more. Then give us perseverance to press closer still. This we pray in Jesus´ name. Amen
