Life can be a struggle. If things don´t just fall into order, we must often fight to stay afloat. For most, this battle continues our entire lives. But it doesn´t have to be this way. The Bible paints us another picture. God Himself calls us to another Spirit. Unlike our spirit, which has limitations, His is completely competent. The Holy Spirit has a clear view and knows where God intends to go with our lives. The invitation to those who would hear it is to make that tiny change and listen to the Spirit of God.
Our biggest problem is that we are blind. We do not see that this tiny shift is what it takes to place us on a higher road. We can walk with minimal effort and with sure steps. All we need to do is place each footstep right where the Lord indicates. How can we do that? It all begins when we realize our relationship with Christ can improve. The more we work on it, the clearer we see that the two spirits run contrary. God´s Spirit moves to His loftier goals. Our fallen nature chases lesser ones. Simple! Grow closer to the Lord. Every inch we come closer to God opens doors to more of His help and guidance.
Dear Lord, we are tired of facing this world alone. We need help from above. Even the saintliest need You. In fact, they walk a higher road because they walk with You. So open the doors between us. Let us come closer still. Help us lay our spirits down in exchange for Yours. Then, with You free to move in us, our lives will finally go how You want them to. In Christ´s name, we pray. Amen
John 14:16-17 ESV / And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.
John 16:13 ESV / When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.
Isaiah 58:9-11 ESV / Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’ If you take away the yoke from your midst, the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness, if you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday. And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 ESV / Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
1 Corinthians 1:20 ESV / Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?
