Because Christians care about where we stand with God, we often overlook our need for Him. We are over the big hurdle because we have professed our faith. God is ours, we say, and then we look around at each other to see what we should do next. Or, we throw ourselves into a sea of activity. But our search for the Lord ends. And we get further from the truth with every step.
The ultimate prize we can shoot for is to become cherished and celebrated children of God. That means we have direct access to the Divine and can enter His presence and live. Christ has paid the price for it. When we believed, we became heirs technically. But the battle for the crown is not over yet. To celebrate too soon could trick us into stopping short of what we were called to.
We were called to God. We know we are to turn to Him. So why do we turn to a million other people and things? We need to get this straight. We must get right with God. Our mission in life is to turn to Him. Get so close to God that His Spirit crowds out ours. Make our relationship with our Savior so intense that we hardly see the things of this world. Throw ourselves into our walk with God. To do what needs to be done in our relationship with the Lord, we cannot afford to turn anywhere else! Let´s run to God today!
Dear Lord, help us see clearly. We can all step closer to You. For our devotion to be real, let it consume us. Intensify our love for You so that we seek You in every moment of the day. Come, let Your Spirit flood our souls until each thought and action is Yours. Let us accept nothing short of this direct contact. Turn our walk with You into the way we live our lives. Amen
