We have all heard wonders about how God moved in the past. But leaving Him there is not enough. The few who stir deeply enough will need to see for themselves. We must know. We must experience what all the fuss is about. So, we get down to business. We go to our knees.
The God of the Scriptures still calls. His voice may be heard over the clamor of our day. That turmoil intends to drown out the call to keep us from finding Him. But we can tune ourselves to hear Him if we so choose.
To the humble souls that press on and press close, God will reveal Himself. When the Almighty moves into our awareness, it is a spectacular event. The presence of God brings comfort and fear. The comforting part is that God and His limitlessness define our every outcome. Fear comes as we realize we cannot live without tying ourselves to Him forever. Blessed are those who seek to experience the wonder of our God today!
Dear Lord, the words of men take us nowhere unless they bring us to You. Open our eyes and ears to Your presence and movement now. Come and be our God today. Show us how our lives will change if we can experience You. Drive us hard in our search. Make all we do or think build our relationship. Take over our hearts and let them beat for You. But please, be with us each minute we pray. Amen
Psalm 16:11 ESV / You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Psalm 23:1-6 ESV / A Psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. …
John 15:5 ESV / I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
Galatians 2:20 ESV / I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Zephaniah 3:17 ESV / The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.
