A lot of people talk about when they came to believe in Jesus or worship God. They usually describe the changes they made to their lives. Once, they chased pleasures or gains. But then they joined a church and adopted their views and ways of living. They are pleased that they refined their lives and have hope for the future. Still, they miss the best part of coming to believe in God. And that is coming to know Him.
It is far better to know someone than it is to know about them. With the Lord, it is the same. Even just moments in His presence can be the most thrilling seconds of our lives. To sense His nearness can be the greatest life-changing experience. Entering a relationship with the Son of God can give us the personal instruction and help we need each day. We finally have someone near. We have our Savior to ask our questions to and hear where He is leading.
We may not gain the whole world by coming to be with Christ. But it will feel like so much more. We will be building a bond between us and the King of Kings. We will walk with the Divine. We can start now. And we will never have to lose that closeness. Never!
Dear Lord, take our hands and walk us through the joys of knowing You. Thrill our hearts with this growing bond between us. Let our hearts skip a beat when we find a moment to turn to You and be with You. Fill our souls with awe as we discover more of Your wonder and nearness we pray. Amen
