The temptation comes to relax once we think we have found faith in Jesus. Some might revel in the promises of God and their assurance of a seat at the Father´s table. But we were not called to a one-time-declaration. We were called into a relationship—a walk with God. He is fairer than words can explain. When the wonder wears off, it is because we have lost sight of Him. We should rather press ourselves and train ourselves to seek Him all day. Relationships die when the need to work on them ceases. We cannot afford to let that happen to us. Pray that we may press closer still. Ask that we see more of God´s wonder and experience His presence more and more every day!
Dear Lord, strengthen our desire to devote ourselves to You. Let us not rest until we reach a closer walk with You. Give us no comfort in a life removed from Your presence. Rather, let our joys and sense of accomplishment be found only in being with You. Let us hunger and thirst for more each day. Amen
