Learning to Walk With God

It is not for everyone. But learning to walk with the King of Kings is worth all our effort.

If we strip down our religion to the very basics, what do we get? Some come to their declaration of faith in God. Others arrive at church attendance or a selection of doctrines. But external actions and mere notions will never get us very close to the Lord. There needs to be an encounter where our souls meet the Living God. And that initial awareness will then have to be cultivated. Once our hearts realize that they can engage with the Spirit, the relationship begins. We will be thrilled to discover new wonders of God all the time. We will be hungry for more. A lot of people haven´t realized their need to walk with God. Some deliberately choose not to dive too deep into the thought. It is much simpler for them to follow the norm. But for us, let us choose to dive into the most rewarding engagement of our lives. Let us take whatever we have with God and use it to grow our walk with Him. Our universe cannot contain the possibilities our relationship with God could bring!

Dear Lord, stir in our lives today. Let awareness sweep over us of how present You are. Once we get it into our heads that our relationship could and should grow, we can do something about it. Create in us a hunger and thirst for more of You. Help us take all our notions, doctrines, and beliefs and use them to approach You more. Like two individuals meeting up in a garden, let us come together often. Reveal Your wonders to us as our relationship grows. Let our bond turn into the sweetest and most powerful part of our lives. In Jesus´ name, we pray. Amen
