In Every Trial

In every trial we face, there is a way to strengthen our walk with God.

Our first response to adversity or tragedy is to feel sorry for ourselves. We may even wonder why God could allow something bad to happen to us. But those who walk closely with their Savior can avoid the strain. They pass by these hurdles without suffering their negative effects. How? They keep their eyes and their hearts above this world and its troubles. Why? These blessed followers are working toward higher goals than this world´s comforts. They strive to please the Lord, who is working on grander schemes. The privileged company that stays focused and close to Christ can have this hope. We can find a way to get closer to our Lord in every gain, especially every struggle.

Dear Lord, through the good times and the bad, help us find a way to grow our bond. If we can lean on You more, then bring it on! Whatever the trial or tragedy, give us cause to trust You more. May we find our opportunities to look to You each day. Then take the same chances to show Your closeness, care, and love; we pray. Amen

I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, …

Psalm 112:7 ESV / He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.
