There is a frightening notion entering religious circles these days. It is a sense of contentment or security while distance remains between us and God. This is tragic because the deceit robs us of all that we believe we have gained with the Lord. A satisfied Christian is not hungry for more of the Lord. If we are not striving to eradicate any distance between Christ and us, then there is too much of it already there.
It is time to pray for an awakening. It is the hour of emergency. Today, let us seek the Lord again. Renew our efforts to approach the throne of grace so that we may obtain mercy. Give us a greater desire to be with our God!.
Dear Lord, strike us with pain and panic. Make us aware that there is still much more we could have of Your presence. When we realize that You would have us closer, let us drop everything and come running to our knees before You! Find aching souls again that You may fill with Your Spirit, we pray. Amen
Let’s therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16 (WEB)
