Prayer can get us there sometimes. Songs can help. A good sermon or devotional read may light the flames of desire. But entering the presence of the Lord should be our highest goal. We do not have to wait until Christ returns to set up His kingdom. We can present ourselves before the throne of God today. We can make it our mission to engage with Him. If we get determined enough with our worship, God will give us awareness of His presence. The moments may be few and fleeting at first. But there is no place sweeter under heaven than the immediate presence of God!
Dear Lord, we are tired of throwing up empty prayers into space. We don´t want to sing songs to someone we cannot know. Please draw us near You today. Let us open our hearts. Allow us to come so close that we can sense Your overwhelming presence. Thrill us and bewilder us with the awe of it all! Our faith is nothing until we can begin to enjoy Your nearness and be with You. Thank you for sharing Yourself with us! Amen
