Good people can get carried away with our religion. They use certain texts or songs to bolster themselves and feel they need to change the world. But there is only One who can change the world. And that One is Jesus Christ. He came from His home with the Father to suffer and die to save us. We have no part in Him if His love is not found in us. So it seems that when we find ourselves all worked up about others, we could learn more from Him.
Jesus already paid the price. He paid the ransom for souls who turn to Him and learn from Him. He has already won the battle, even though a struggle continues over who will come. So, if we want to get worked up over something, let´s choose Him. Let us make more of Christ and less of our world. Let´s get the focus where it should be, and then our hearts will begin to reflect the love we have been shown.
Dear Lord, please root out any animosity toward others. You came to save the very ones who rejected You. Let Your spirit be seen in us. As we direct ourselves fully to You, may our hearts change. Help us start caring for the eternal well-being of others too. Amen
