The Garden of Life

Life is like a garden we walk through. Let it be a place to spend time with our Lord.

We can view our life on Earth in many different ways, and how we view it can shape how we live. If we listen to modern trends, we will be tempted to own, control, or use life to get what we want. But if we care about the God who designed our world and these lives we live, we might want to come to know Him. Seeing life as a beautiful garden can give us a marvelous opportunity to do that.

The world around us and our task of surviving provide the perfect setting to engage with the Lord. We can seek Him amongst the beautiful surroundings. We can walk and talk with Him in peaceful places. We can learn from God what is harmful and what fruit is good. The more time we spend together, the sweeter the moments will become. So let us take full advantage of this life. Let us make it a place to linger with our Savior!

Dear Lord, give us a heavenly perspective. Let us see our situation in a way that enhances our relationship with You. Fill each day with opportunities for us to come together. Let our greatest pleasure come from finding You here and encountering You. Whether up or down, fast or slow, let us, Your children, revel in Your presence; we pray. Amen

Genesis 3:8 ESV / And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

Genesis 2:8 ESV / And the Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed.

Luke 13:19 ESV / It is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his garden, and it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches.”

Jeremiah 31:12 ESV / They shall come and sing aloud on the height of Zion, and they shall be radiant over the goodness of the Lord, over the grain, the wine, and the oil, and over the young of the flock and the herd; their life shall be like a watered garden, and they shall languish no more.

Isaiah 51:3 ESV / the Lord comforts Zion; he comforts all her waste places and makes her wilderness like Eden, her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the voice of song.

Ecclesiastes 2:5 ESV / I made myself gardens and parks, and planted in them all kinds of fruit trees.

  1. An idea has come to me: when we pray, most of the time our prayers have already been answered.

    Biess this food.

    Be with me today.

    Save my children.
    Guide us all. Etc.

    We’re only becoming aware.
    God help us!
