The Occasional Prayer

Praying once or twice a day is nice. But if we love the Lord, why not stay in touch with Him constantly?

Most religious people try to find a few moments of the day to spend in prayer. Some set specific times away for it. A few might shoot prayers up all through their day. But did we ever stop to think about what God might want?

Our dealings with God are not a game. We cannot trust a routine, rituals, or what the rest are doing. It is a relationship. It takes a significant investment on our part. That is, of course, if we want this relationship to go anywhere.

Now would be a good time to examine our walk with the Lord. Is there more of our heart that we could give? Is there more of a bond we could create? Could we walk a little closer or stay in touch more? If we take a good hard look, there is for sure more time that we could spend with Christ. Pray that our prayers can keep an open communication between the Lord and us all day, and all night!

Dear Lord, we do not want to leave You when we stand up from our prayers. Instead, we want the connection we make to carry on as we go to engage in our world. We need You with us as we make every decision and action. We want to do it all WITH YOU! So increase our desire and bond until we carry our conversation with You all the time, we pray. Amen
