Desire After God

We can never have enough or too much of God´s Spirit filling our hearts. Let´s ask for more!

There has never been, nor will there ever be, a person filled with more of the Spirit of God than they should have. It is impossible because God is infinite. We fail to see because we are finite and have limitations. Unfortunately, we cannot see that each should be striving for more of the Holy Spirit. And, those who have more, are the ones who are waking up.

Desire after God is the driving force that keeps us growing and stretching our faith. Reaching for the Lord keeps us looking to Him. Searching for Christ keeps us following Him. It is when we lose the urgency that we become complacent Christians. Then we begin to pat ourselves on the back. Revelation´s warnings to the churches are for each of us. Let us turn. Let us ache. Let us do something. And let us yearn again for more of the Lord!

Dear Lord, no matter how much of Your Spirit you flood our souls with, please let us strive for more. Make our faith active, alive, and growing every day. Take us from this low plain to where those close to Your heart walk and talk with You. Give us desire for You, then increase it until we are with You forever; we pray. Amen

Luke 13:24-27 ESV / “Strive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. When once the master of the house has risen and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, open to us,’ then he will answer you, ‘I do not know where you come from.’ Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’ But he will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of evil!’

Hebrews 10:29 ESV / How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace?

Hebrews 4:12 ESV / For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Ephesians 3:20 ESV / Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,

Isaiah 45:9-13 ESV / “Woe to him who strives with him who formed him, a pot among earthen pots! Does the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’ or ‘Your work has no handles’? Woe to him who says to a father, ‘What are you begetting?’ or to a woman, ‘With what are you in labor?’” Thus says the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and the one who formed him: “Ask me of things to come; will you command me concerning my children and the work of my hands? I made the earth and created man on it; it was my hands that stretched out the heavens, and I commanded all their host. I have stirred him up in righteousness, and I will make all his ways level; he shall build my city and set my exiles free, not for price or reward,” says the Lord of hosts
