Human love and human will are still human. They are weak and insufficient when it comes to pleasing God. We need a Savior to not only turn us from our ways but also lead us to God. Christ spoke of this when He promised to send us the Counselor. When the Spirit of the Lord can enter our hearts, bigger changes are made. We start to see and feel after God and learn what He is working on. More emphasis, time, and effort should be given these days to opening ourselves unto Him. When the Holy Ghost can move us as He wills, then our worship will be worthy of our God.
Dear Lord, please remove from our hearts all that keeps Your Spirit from taking over. Throw everything out and take from us all that hinders Him. We want our faith to grow into something worthy of You. So exchange our ways, our thoughts, and our understandings for Yours. Let Your Spirit be more at home in us than we are, we pray. Amen
