There are many different takes on religion. Those who profess having it usually have very strong opinions. We also defend our opinions with deliberate force. The reason for this is that it touches the most vital aspects of our existence. But there is something we should all remember. We could spend our whole lives teaching and preaching and still not come to know the One we speak of. We could structure our entire lives around a set of beliefs and still not sense the presence of the Spirit. If we are not careful, our Prize could be stolen from us right under our noses.
When we wake in the morning, we have a whole day before us. We could hurl ourselves into the tasks at hand and deal with all that the day will bring. But do we know that we do not have to face one single second of that day alone? It is completely possible, and we have been called to take each step along with the God we claim to have. We can follow Christ if we get to know Him as an essential part of each moment. If we want to make something real of our religion, it is time that we bring our Lord into our lives in a way that He is here now. Pray that we wake up to the presence of God and keep Him here all the time!
Dear Lord, we are tired of playing this game we call religion. Open our hearts. Make a connection between us and You that cannot be overlooked. Come into our day, our lives, and our every moment. We want to walk with You. Let every thought and action be something we do together. Help our beliefs bring us into the sweetest bond. Then let us live with You here, now, and always. We pray in Jesus´ name. Amen
