No Time for God?

When we feel we have no time to dedicate to God, remember, all that we have is His.

One of the deadliest deceptions is that we have no time for God. We all experience it. And it can frustrate even the most devout Christian. The obligations of our day pull at us and cannot be ignored. So what can we do about it?

There might not be a magic trick to cure the problem completely. But there is much we can do. First, the matter needs to be considered together with our Lord. Take it to Him. Do it often. Then, we can weigh our issues against our love for God. Which is most important? When we look over our daily lives with our Savior, we may see where our hearts go out to things other than Him. Next, after discussing with the Lord, entrust Him with the pressing issues. But this is not a passive action. It must be followed up with the most important part. That is where we stay with Him to watch how He takes care of our business.

We have approached God, brought Him our issues, and handed them over to Him. Then we trusted Him to help us with them. Now, when we get up off our knees, we never let Him out of sight. We keep Him with us. That way, all that we still have to run off to do, we can do it together with our dear Lord. What a wonderful opportunity! And we get that pleasure over again each day!

Dear Lord, when we get the feeling today that we do not have time for You, give us a change of heart. Let us do whatever we must, but with You right here with us. Come into our moment and share this thing we call living. Connect us together in all that we must face. Turn our daily battle into a walk with our dearest and closest friend. Thank You for always being there. Now help us to join You in that mission too! Amen

Psalm 39:4-5 ESV / “O Lord, make me know my end and what is the measure of my days; let me know how fleeting I am! Behold, you have made my days a few handbreadths, and my lifetime is as nothing before you. Surely all mankind stands as a mere breath! Selah

Colossians 4:5 ESV / Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.

Ephesians 5:15 ESV / Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,

Psalm 90:1-17 ESV / A Prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. You return man to dust and say, “Return, O children of man!” For a thousand years in your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, or as a watch in the night. You sweep them away as with a flood; they are like a dream, like grass that is renewed in the morning: …

James 4:13-17 ESV / Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
