Every Christian is in a dangerous position. It would be easy to fall into the trap. We could hold all the right beliefs and go through all the right motions like everyone around us. But if we do not encounter the Living God, we are in trouble.
God gave us His Word and sent others to point us in the right direction. Yet, all the services, songs, and writings were intended to bring us to Him. The moment we wake up and find ourselves in His presence, it will all be well worth it. When awareness sweeps over us and we find ourselves before Him, God will become the love of our lives. The fanfare and ordinary faith are unworthy and tasteless. We will want more. Seek it, take it! God is waiting for us to come and spend some time with Him today!
Dear Lord, draw us near enough today to see how much of our faith is genuine. Attach us to You in a way that a bond grows. We want to need You, to hear from You, and to know You are here with us. We want our prayers to be received, and to pray them to You in that way. Open our awareness. Remove the veil that hides us from experiencing Your presence each day. Thank You for reminding us often that this is faith. Let us walk with You all day, every day. We pray. Amen

“Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps. As the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept. 6 But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ 7 Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ 9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. 11 Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open to us.’ 12 But he answered, ‘Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ 13 Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.
