Praise for Us, Or Warning

Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they didn’t repent. Matthew 11:20

It is better to fall into the merciful hands of Christ than to trust ourselves or our ways. Christ reprimands the areas where He has worked and found no resulting change of heart. When we read His story, we also can choose. Jesus´s words can either stir us and make us seek His presence or not. It depends on how receptive our hearts are.
Calling ourselves Christians does not mean we have established a relationship with Christ. We need to go out and see to it that it gets done. So, when Jesus reprimands the cities where He has done great works, pray that God finds a reaction in us.
The Lord is working among us today as well. He is moving in the cities, churches, families, and our social circles.  Let us look up for the answers from above. Let us not delay!

Dear Lord, we cannot even begin to wonder at all the things you are working on that we cannot see.  Please help our limited sight.  Accept our hearts even though they are filled with imperfections.  Let us turn to You today.  We do not want to give You any reason for concern like those cities of old.  If we cannot see you move, please draw us closer until we do see. Do this in Your name and for Your glory we pray, Amen

Isaiah 55:6-7 ESV / “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
