More of the Lord

It will be a real tragedy to find out too late that we could have put more of ourselves into our relationship with God.

There are many levels of human desire. Sadly, we all fall short of where we could be with the Lord. Yet ever so often, we find hearts that open themselves heavenward. Something of God has stirred deep within, and the soul leaped up to respond.

Some mysterious calling sets these individuals on a mighty quest to know God more. They need to experience what being in His presence is like. They cannot live without knowing the Lord is here now and that they can detect that nearness. These burning-hearted souls are not a higher breed of Christians. They are merely humble worshippers of God and followers of Christ. They are true believers. The rest fail to take the matter seriously enough. May the Lord help us all and kindle the flame within!

Dear Lord, reveal to us how sincere our love for You truly is. Strike us and inflict us with a terrible desire to know You more. Let us dwell in this land no longer. But rather, yearn for higher plains where our souls can walk with You. Remove this contentment we have with our world. Replace it with hunger and thirst for Your presence. Raise up for Yourself, a people who want nothing less than to be where You are. Always. Amen
