To God, Or Not

God only asks to be in everything about us. He has tried through the ages to help us see that He has given us each breath and all that comes with it. Calling Him Lord is not enough. Paying token tributes, flattery, or enthusiastic praise also fall short. Doing good deeds and obeying commandments are things He asks of us. But they won’t carry us to salvation if they are not done with Him. Our mission in life should be to take each step along with our Savior. We can and should grow closer to God with every passing day. The steps that do not take us in that direction are the ones we need to worry about.

Dear Lord, help us keep You present at all times. Never let us turn, think, or act without You. We stray when we focus on anything that You are not included in. So, please draw us nearer still. Keep us close and engaged with You at all times. Amen
