Salvation and faith in Christ will forever be a spiritual exchange. Something deep within us must release our fancy ideas of making our own way or following a crowd. We will need to gaze heavenward in wonder. A deep sense of longing must sweep over us until a shift occurs in our interests. God longs for people to discover His presence. But it is not something available to a casual seeker or wishful thinker. If we would like to know God, we would be the kind of people who will do what it takes to establish a relationship with Him.
Going to church is not enough of a commitment to prove we walk with God. Following standards or rules won´t do the trick either. When will we realize that any step on our own, is not with Christ? The parable of the lost sheep is not just a story. It must become our story. Until we are safely in the Savior´s embrace, none of our religious pretensions will save us. No church on earth can substitute. Pray that we reach a point where we cannot live without a constant personal engagement with our Lord.
Dear Lord, remove all sense of security we cling to. Without Your presence with us here and now, we are lost, forever! Make our relationship real. Show us how to walk and talk with You and receive every instruction directly from You. Be the dearest Friend and companion of our Soul. May we take not one step today, or any day, without You. Amen
Hebrews 4:16 ESV / Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Luke 13:23-30 WEB / 23 One said to him, “Lord, are they few who are saved?” He said to them, 24 “Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in, and will not be able. 25 When once the master of the house has risen up, and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside, and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’ 26 Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’ 27 He will say, ‘I tell you, I don’t know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.’ 28 There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets, in the Kingdom of God, and yourselves being thrown outside. 29 They will come from the east, west, north, and south, and will sit down in the Kingdom of God. 30 Behold, there are some who are last who will be first, and there are some who are first who will be last.”
