The only way to please God and keep His Spirit thriving in us is to stay close to Him. Becoming a better Christian by cleaning up our actions is not the easy solution. It takes more than having better doctrines or following finer church standards. We need to learn to find His presence and stay in it always. Steps we take away from God hurt us. Every time we choose our own ways, desires, or pleasures, we stray. Let us pray like never before. Let us seek our Savior with an intensity that places us right where He is. Then let us spend our lives making sure that we cling close to Him and never grieve the Spirit of God again!
Dear Lord, give the word and let us come close. Draw us unto You with a deep hunger for nothing but You. Let us come into Your presence, where all our vanity is burned away. Thrill our hearts with awareness. As the mist clears and our focus sharpens, may we be changed into enraptured worshippers. Let us remain so close to You that we will be Yours forever. We pray, Amen.
