Belief in God

Belief in the presence of God is not something we claim to get us into heaven. It is how we come to know Him.

There is an unspoken notion afoot that all we have to do is claim belief in God, and then we are saved. Magical powers protect us from then on without needing any more effort on our part. This professed belief assures us of our spot. Still, our hearts are very much in love with ourselves and our world. There are texts that people use to strengthen this argument. But God will not honor one part of His word to overlook the rest.

God is not the God of souls that use technicalities to get into His company. He is the King of those who prove their notions about Him are not settled by logic. True followers are people who have somehow come in contact with the presence of God. These souls hear the arguments, then drop to their knees to see if He can be with them too. They will never trust the best of beliefs if it doesn´t bring them into direct contact with God. Belief will forever mean trusting in God´s presence to the point where He begins moving in our souls. God will speak to us, guide us, lead us, and encourage us. But these things flood the hearts of those whose belief goes deeper than their powers of reason. Glory to God in the highest!

Dear Lord, take our feeble faith and make it strong. Turn us and tune us to You. May we leave our ways far behind. Take us to where our belief in You brings us into Your glorious presence. Hushed and breathless, let You nearness eclipse our understanding. When awareness comes of You, here with us, let the world know we were blown away by the wonder of it all! Amen

Genesis 3:8 ESV / And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

Psalm 139:7-10 ESV / Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.

Psalm 100:2-5 ESV / Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Psalm 51:11 ESV / Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me.

Jude 1:24 ESV / Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy,

2 Peter 3:3-4 ESV / Knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.”

Colossians 3:1 ESV / If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

Philippians 3:10 ESV / That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,

2 Corinthians 5:8 ESV / Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
