Generations of the Christian faith have given us time to catch up with the Pharisees of old. We have our religious jargon, rituals, and doctrines. We have grown so accustomed to what we have made of religion that few people even wonder if there is anything more. We talk of God, sing of Him, and pray to ask things of Him. But, if God cannot be sensed here with us, then we have fallen short.
Something deep within our hearts must be stirred. Like the pool of Bethesda, a supernatural movement must happen to a believer. Then, what becomes of that encounter determines if our religion ties us to God or gives us more earthly ways.
Dear Lord, rock our boat until our tie to You becomes real. Turn our religion from fanfare into a deep and intimate walk with You. Let Your presence be the beating heart of our existence. So that when we wake each morning, it is unto a whole day to spend adoring and enjoying You. Amen
