It is beautiful and necessary to refresh the soul in the still of the mornings. Yet the closer one walks with the Lord, the more often we will find ourselves in need of seeking Him. Steal away to the copy room. Lock yourself in the bathroom. Water the garden. Or going for a walk or run. Even a commute can be an opportunity to spend precious moments with our Beloved. We will need our moments with Him to get by. We will need it for the change of turning world-followers into Christ-followers. We will need more moments to get to know the One we will spend forever with.
Seek Him out, love Him, let our time in and with the Spirit become our greatest desire.
Dear Lord, draw us like a moth to a flame. Place a fire within us then feed it. Grow this hunger for You until it consumes us. Let us become people after Your own heart. But only if that means that our heart will ache if it is not with You in Your presence; we pray! Amen
