What Others Think

Real faith places all our attention on the Lord, regardless of what others think.

Stepping out of favor with others is one of our worst fears. Its intensity depends on how high we hold those people, their opinions of us, and their power over our lives. We see how much it affects our relationships with other humans. But the problem begins when we focus on where we stand with them instead of with the Lord.

Pray that we get the right adjustment first. Worry ourselves with God, if it is the only thing we do. Place all importance, time, and effort into improving our bond with Him. The other people will only matter when and if we get right with our Savior and can see where He is moving.

Dear Lord, change the direction of our gaze! Let us look to You, for You, and only at You. If our sight can get so focused on You, we will see better what is going on in this temporary world we live in. Open us to hear, to understand. Take us where no human can go on our own. Lead us into Your Kingdom. Show us the joys of walking with the Divine; we pray! Amen.

Proverbs 29:25 / “It is dangerous to be concerned with what other people think of you, but if you trust the Lord, you are safe”.

Philippians 4:6-7 / “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”.

Matthew 6:33 / “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well”.

Galatians 1:10 / “Am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ”.

1 Thessalonians 2:4 / “For we were not trying to please ourselves, but God, who decides whether we are qualified for what we do”.

Psalm 118:6 / “The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”.

1 Timothy 4:( (WEB) / 8For bodily exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things, having the promise of the life which is now and of that which is to come. 9This saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance. 10For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we have set our trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.
