A Step Into God

Dear Lord, the sounds of the parties are dying down. It is time now to roll up sleeves and get back to routines and jobs. As we do, go with us. Actually, go before us, drawing us in the right direction. Without You we are lost sheep. That includes all those who call themselves Yours. If You are not present or not needed there, we are lost. If hearts are not seeking more and pressing closer, then we have nothing. It will never be enough. 

But, if it is Your manifest presence that we yearn for, it will be different. If our hunger drives us hard after You, then we will get somewhere. Soon we will see that gaining anything under the sun will get us nowhere lasting. Yet even a tiny step nearer to You in heart and Spirit, advances us. We move towards realms where You reign unchallenged. Please give us a terrible thirst for the dew of heaven. Make our souls ache to be where You are. Take anything and everything of this life from us, but let us find ourselves in Your arms. There, all that belong to You are safe and blessed forever and ever.
