’and say to the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ He will show you a large upper room, all furnished. Make preparations there.” They left and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover. Luke 22:11-13 (NIV)
It is getting near to the big celebration of the Unleavened Bread. A lot is happening. Everyone is wondering just what will come to pass. Can we sense excitement in the air? Do we know a big event is about to happen? Jesus has been leading His followers into an understanding of God and His Kingdom. Now can we see that all the pieces are coming together? Are we able to perceive that the Spiritual Land is not far now? Is the Lord´s teaching bringing its fruit? Has His work performed its miracle in our hearts? Have our eyes been opened to see this closeness and the overwhelming reality of it?
Those Jesus sends to prepare for the celebration supper want to know where to go. They approach Jesus to find out. Does the Saviour tell them strait out? Or does He send them on a bit of a mission of faith? Does He send us off with enough information so that we know what to expect? Does He tell us a little of what is to come so that as we see His plan unfold, we get a bigger picture of what He is working on? Is He always teaching us? Are we aware that in all that He says and does there is always a lesson of faith? Do we realize that He is forever showing us more of Himself? Can we see Him revealing more and more? Do we sense a fuller understanding? Are we constantly led into a deeper and closer relationship through our growing awareness?
Jesus calls Himself the Teacher. What lesson do we find in His words here? How is He leading our hearts today? Are we to read of this story and be uplifted by the revelations revealed it those words? Are we taking the time to look and see for ourselves? Is Jesus engaging us through them? What message do His words hold for us right now? What are we learning? Are we sealing up His words and His messages in a distant past? Is their instructional value limited to what happened back in a previous day? Or is the Son of God able to teach us here and now? Are we able to see how He showed His Disciples just enough instruction and then let them see for themselves how His words unfolded into incredible events and happenings? Does this help us see what He is doing for us today? How are His words opening doors of understanding to us? Where can we see the mighty arm of God at work around us? If Jesus truly is the Son of God, then is He eternal too? Is His teaching still bringing the same instructional weight that it always has? Are we aware of His teaching us in this moment too? How are we hearing the Lord? Are we approaching Him as our Teacher right now?
