The Call

The Call

The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off–for all whom the Lord our God will call.”  Acts 2:39

Is it more than evident that the call of God just isn´t for everyone?  The invitation is there.  The promises of the Lord have been made.  All Heaven and all eternity hang upon our responses.  But how terribly few are actually moved by what is held before us!  How sad is it that given all the blessing of the Lord and the chance to come to know God and His Son, people will still turn away.  Hearts are unable to open themselves to Christ and all that He has tried to teach us.  All can hear the words, but are we going to be among those who truly hear the call?

Can we detect this call shaking the foundations of our soul?  What are we called to?  Is it to an organization, routine or pleasing theories?  Or are our hearts drawn to a loving bond with the Divine?  Are we moved to seek and to walk with the Great Unseen Reality?  Are we called to set our lives to the pursuit of cultivating our awareness and dependence upon the Presence and promises of God?  Are we hearing the call now?

Dear Lord,

Thank You for the invitation!  Thank You for turning first to us!  Now let Your generosity and love work their reward inside our hearts!  Let us hear Your voice calling us into the most thrilling relationship of our lives!  Let us dive into our walk with You, to seek You in all things, and to discover You more each day!  Let us receive Your call to You today!  Help us respond!  Let Your call be for us right now we pray!

Amen
