Giving What We Have

Giving What We Have

Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”  Acts 3:6 (NIV)

Peter and John come across a man who cannot walk.  He asks them for money.  But they don´t have.  They have something much more important.  They have something of much more value.  They are filled with the Spirit of God.  They are overflowing with the love of God.  They have the power of the Lord with them.  So Peter offers it to the man.  A miracle happens!

The Disciples are great among men and in favor with God.  They performed miraculous healings.  But what is great about them is not necessarily the wonderful acts that come as a result of their faith.  They are great because they walked with the Lord.  They are strong because they dedicate their lives to following Jesus.  They press forward in faith until they are filled with the Spirit of God!  These marvelous things are available to each of us.  We too can press forward.  We too can dedicate ourselves to the point where we are filled.  And when we are filled then we too will have something special to give.  Miracles will follow!  Shall we press closer to Him and harder after our Lord now?

Dear Heavenly Father,

We do not want to be left behind in our devotion to You.  Please enable us and help us, to press always closer to You.  Help us seek more intently to be filled with Your Spirit.  We want to have so much of You in us that we will have something to give to those around us too!
