Witnessing God

Witnessing God

You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.  Acts 3:15 (NIV)

People come running to see what the miraculous healing is all about.  Peter takes this opportunity to put everything into perspective.  God has power to do any kind of wonder.  Man does not.  Man managed to put to death God´s Son.  But God raised Him to life.  Even this horrible treatment and rejection fit into the Lord´s plan.  God infinitely sits over and above all that we accomplish.  His workings are eternally higher than our greatest imaginings.  And Jesus is the focal point.  We are all witnesses.

Man forever tries to limit God.  Without realizing it our indifference or lack of urgency to the words of God, leave Him without the chance to save us.  All history proves time and again that God will always have the final say.  All nature shouts praise and glory to His magnificence and care.  Those who care to take note will realize that God is at work.  He is moving now.  Miracles abound where His people look to Him.  He will not stop until the children who love Him are back within His arms.  Are we aware of His wonderful works today?  Should we be running to see too?

Dear Father in Heaven,

Move in our lives today.  Show us Your wonder and care.  Direct our attention to Your Son, our Saviour, and our Lord.  As we turn from our frail vision to look for Your miraculous power, reward us daily with new discoveries of You.  Unleash the power and Spirit from on High to move us and lead us surely home to You we pray!
