Opening Doors

opening-doors

They passed the first and second guards and came to the iron gate leading to the city. It opened for them by itself, and they went through it. When they had walked the length of one street, suddenly the angel left him.  Acts 12:10 (NIV)

It seems like a dream.  It is too good to be real!  Peter is brought out from between two guards.  The angel of the Lord takes him pas the first and then the second guards.  Now when they reach the immense iron door that finally leads to freedom, it swings open for them!  Astounding!  This is when we know that we have seen the arm of God moving!  This is when it dawns upon us that God is at work!  When the doors open for us we realize that God is here and He is at work in our lives!  Is this where we are now?

What kind of prison are we being kept in?  Is there opposition, oppression or just a life of isolation?  Is our prayer reaching the ears of the Lord?  What have we been asking for?  Are we looking to get ahead in life?  Or are we asking to be free to follow Jesus?  Are we making our appeal so genuine that He can finally send an angel to take us by the hand?  Are we making Christ important enough in our day, our prayers and our lives that He can move again?  Are we really ready to see doors swinging open for us?  Are we ready to step out, seek Him and follow His mighty move today?

Dear Lord,

Our lives seem at times like the inside of a prison.  Please find in us the correct inclination of heart so that You may move in power now!  Let us see what it is like when You start swinging open doors in and around us we pray!

Amen
