It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: Acts 15:28 (NIV)
Christ´s early church finds the need to send an express message to the people who know little of religious laws and ordinances. They write and send witnesses in person to guide and strengthen believers. Men who know what it is to move with and please the Holy Spirit testify that it seems good to Him to encourage others. The list of things to avoid is short. But the message in encouragement is great. We are not here to heap burdens upon others! We are here to direct hearts unto God. This pleases the Holy Spirit! Have we reached a point where that is our goal too?
When interest in faith in Christ begins, many are those who would tend to regulations. Great mountains have been created and even atrocities committed over the obligations men would place. But where are the encouragers? Where are those whose shoulders are bruised with the load they are willing to carry to help their brothers and sisters in Christ? It seems good to the Holy Spirit to encourage and to build up. Shall we set out today to learn and pray that we have Divine help to do what seems good to the Holy Spirit? Shall we encourage God´s children instead of burden them?
Help us to encourage all those around us today! Help us reflect the love and sacrifice of Christ instead of making the way difficult for others to come to know You! Help us do what seems good to the Holy Spirit now we pray!
