Not Allowed

When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to.  Acts 16:7  (NIV)

God sees what we do not.  God´s timing is always perfect.  What is imperfect and needs constant modification are our human will and our nature.  By nature we need to move through this life connected to and wholly dependent upon where the Spirit of Jesus would lead us.  From the moment we set off on a mission from above we cannot assume anything and march off confidently on our own.  We are still servants and children.  Every order must come from the Spirit.  Even places we think we are sent to can change.  Are we so fully tuned to Christ that we detect where we are allowed or not allowed to move today?

The Lord always wants to see we are responsive to His voice.  It may be that we are not allowed something because God knows that we and others can be blessed by our simple obedience.  It may be that our close relationship and quick response to the whispers of the Holy Spirit is just what our Lord is looking for in us!  Should we tune ourselves to the movement of the Spirit today to see what is and what isn´t allowed for us as we go through our day?

Dear Lord,

Whisper to us!  Tell us what we can do for You!  Tune us to hear Your voice!  Make us so accustomed to hearing Your direction that we can detect what is and isn´t allowed!  May glory come to You through our quick and faithful response we pray!
