No Fear, Speak!

no-fear-speak

One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent.  Acts 18:9  (NIV)

The Lord speaks.  He talks to His people.  He uses dreams.  He uses the Scriptures.  He speaks through the Holy Spirit.  He moves within His people.  He sets our hearts in motion.  And His message is clear.  He says not to be afraid.  He says we don´t have to keep quiet.  He tells us to share what we have found.  He says that we may be attacked.  He says that we might be threatened.  But what we are sharing is worth any discomfort or any inconvenience to our earthly lives.  We do not have to be afraid of the world because we have Jesus!  Do we know this truth?  Is it something that sustains us?  Is it the comfort that gets us through our day?

What is whispered to Paul in a dream is given to us again now.  The Lord´s words of encouragement can be ours today.  What remains is only for us to take hold of them.  The only thing that is needed is for us to grasp them and make them ours.  Is the Lord asking something of us now?  Will we need to trust Him in the face of all that would stand against us?  Shall we embrace the gestures and words of our Savior?  Shall we step forward boldly in faith?  Shall we swallow our fears and not remain silent?  Shall we share the gift of Christ to those who could use Him in their lives today?

Dear Lord,

Speak to us in the face of our adversity.  Tell us again we do not have to fear.  Let us speak of You!  Let us share the unspeakable treasure we have found to those who need You too!

Amen
