to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’ Acts 26:18 (NIV)
There are people who do not concern themselves with being sanctified in the eyes of God. It is there choice to run this precarious risk. There are others who say they do want to be covered on the Day of Atonement. Unfortunately the Bible tells us that not all who use the name of God will go on to make the right adjustments in their lives. Paul gives us a description of those who care to hear. Do we know what Jesus wants of us so that His work can present us sanctified unto God?
Our Scripture says that our eyes must be opened. Could this be so we can see that God is near and how to follow His will each day? It says we must turn from darkness to light. Is that so we can cease to look at our dark intentions and start seeing the brilliance of the Lord? It says we should turn from Satan to God. Is this so we can stop giving in to the evil urge to uphold ourselves instead of glorifying the Almighty? It says we may receive forgiveness and find a place with Jesus. Is this so we can be drawn to seek Christ in our lives? Are we so moved by our hope and our faith in Jesus that we will be sanctified and receive our place with Him?
Give us faith to seek You, to have our eyes opened, and to turn from all else unto You! Let us be among those who are sanctified by our faith and our walk with You today we pray!
