The Lie We Live

The Lie We Live

They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator–who is forever praised. Amen.  1:25  NIV

Before anything can be built there must be a foundation.  Long before faith can be strong and of good resistance, it must be firmly grounded in Truth.  In this world where Christians find themselves today we live in a rocky and unstable territory.  We must be sure that what we build our lives upon is none other than the Rock of Ages!  Right from the beginning there has been the danger of living a lie.  Dark and evil forces would not let us remain solidly set upon our God.  The deceiver would have us look to lesser things.  And humans sadly have this tendency to go along with the lie.  Do we check often how sure the pillars of our heart are set upon God?  Are we sure that we don´t exchange being firmly grounded in Jesus for a lie, and let our hearts serve a world of lesser delights?

Could we pray that the Lord will examine our faith with us today?  Can we resist the temptations to look at all the earthly distractions that would keep us from serving, worshipping or being with our Lord?  Should we stop the trend and the lie we all live and turn to the One Who can save us from ourselves and our times?

Dear Lord,

We still live in times of danger.  All around us we are pulled to earthly distractions.  Please guide our souls over the obstacles!  Help us build a strong foundation in You!  With our close bond with You we can resist the lies and remain grounded truly as children and worshippers of You alone.

Amen
