Worthwhile God

Worthwhile God

Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done.  1:28  NIV

Results come from a cause.  The state of mankind is a result.  Look around us and we can see that our situation today is morally bleak.  Paul gives a good account of how this happens.  When we forget how Holy, how righteous, how immense God is, we lose the One true Center that all else should relate to.  When God becomes so small in our hearts that He is not worth our while to include each moment, the results are clearly seen all around us!  Have we noticed?  Is there any area of our lives that might demonstrate we have not thought God was worthwhile to be with us there?

Cause brings the corresponding result.  For the remedy, God gives us His Son.  Christ is the cure for the Human race, our disease, and a host of symptoms of the fall.  We find healing in the immense love and sacrifice of Jesus.  He can restore our values to their intended heights.  Now we finally have a Helper to take us step by step.  He can show us the overwhelming worth of our God.  Shall we embrace the grace that we have been shown?  Shall we take the hand of Jesus and let Him lead us again to the God Who is infinitely more worthwhile than anything we have ever known!

Dear Lord,

Save us from our disease!  Give us again, a worthy impression of the Limitless God!  Give us urgency to fix our relationship with You!  Lift our expectations to the unlimited discoveries of You that we will make as we draw ever closer we pray!

Amen
