Not Realizing

Not Realizing

Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness leads you toward repentance?  Romans 2:4  NIV

Christians believe that we must go from being bad to being good.  This is the truth, but only part of the truth.  We could go on for years or even a lifetime in this half-truth and miss out on the greatest of all blessings.  The other part of the truth is that God made us for Him.  The only Way we can ever be right is to respond to God´s gesture of love.  Do we realize what He is calling us to?

We are not called to do anything on our own!  We show contempt for the patience of God when we hold Him away from what He wants with us.  It serves Him little if there are many people acting righteously!  God wants hearts actually tuned unto Him!  He wants close and intimate contact!  He does not want His servants turning to Him only for a moment of pleading for higher moral conduct!  God wants us in a loving embrace!  Only the person, who realizes that distance still remains, will turn from their own contemplation.  They will seek God!  Shall we repent now from removing Christ from anything we ever do or think?  Shall we pray that we realize any separation and immediately turn from whatever keeps us from intimate contact with our Lord?  Shall we repent and turn to Him?

Dear Lord,

Never let us be ignorant of Your movement or will for us!  Let us know how much You want to share with us now!  Help us drop everything and work with the Spirit to bring us into the intense relationship You desire with us today we pray!

Amen
