Which Way?

Which Way?

ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know.”  Romans 3:16-17  NIV

We talk much about Jesus Christ being our Way.  Christian are so familiar with the term that we seldom stop to examine what we are saying.  But it is important that we do.  It is a matter of life and death.  We all need to pause whatever we are doing and check our step.  We must swallow our pride and drop to our knees.  We all need a Savior.  If we are unable to see how much we need Jesus, then we certainly are not in step behind Him, following as He has called.  Do we know which way we are choosing today?

The Way of Peace is called that, not because the ones who walk there have had all their earthly problems removed.  The Way Christ offers us isn´t just receiving a comfortable life of ease.  It isn´t being set free to enjoy the many materialistic expressions that show our new-found favor with the Lord.  The Way of Peace is peaceful because through every hurdle and every pain, we have One Who´s shoulders we can lean on.  Jesus is our Way because He is the Only One Who can lead us safely home to our Heavenly Father.  Are we doing all we can right now to make sure that we are coming to know our Way?  Are we running to our knees now because our hearts need to assure that we are on our Way?  Will we find what defines us and tells us which way we are on if we do?

Dear Jesus,

Be our Way today!  Be the One we run to, the One we seek, and the One we lean on!  Be all that fills our eyes!  Let our hearts seek nothing less!  Let us find Our Way today in You!

Amen
