Atonement

Atonement

God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished–  Romans 3:25  NIV

Christianity in a nutshell is this; that God has given us this opportunity to come again within His Presence.  It is His plan to justify a race of people prone to wandering off, turning their backs on Him, and seeking to live out their lives without Him.  Unto us He offers His Son Jesus.  It is Christ Who is given for those who choose to set their hopes and their faith in.  Through His sacrifice and our choice to draw near and love Him, that our waywardness is not held against us any longer.  Through His gesture of love, God demonstrates His mercy and justice.  Is the thought of Christ´s atonement the one sweet truth that gives us hope today?

If we are able to realize even a small piece of God´s love in the gesture He has made toward us in His Son, then there is hope for us.  If we are capable of embracing that sacrifice and that atonement, then we can be among the chosen few.  If we can go beyond our rituals and routines, our declarations, and our justifying ourselves by lesser means, then we can be found in Christ.  By the blood of Jesus, we can make the great journey of soul to find again our Heavenly Father!  Shall we thank the Lord for His atonement?  Shall we embrace His love and invite Christ into our lives today?

Dear Lord,

Thank You for giving us a Way to come again to You!  Now give us we pray, our Savior to bring us safely Home!

Amen
