Strength Over Any Fear

Strength Over Any Fear

For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”  Romans 8:15  NIV

The Spirit that is given to us is stronger than anything we can face.  But the strength that is often preached today is a strength against sinful acts.  That kind of strength is very handy, but not the strength that we most need today.  It is more superficial than the strength that we will need to see past the deceptions of our times.  It is not the strength that puts us further into our Father´s arms.  Do we know what kind of strength we most need today?

Christians are called to Christ.  We are called to God.  We are called to receive the Spirit of God.  This is an intimate relationship between the worshippers and our God.  This bond and this indwelling brings strength.  But it is not merely a strength to do good, although actions will surely follow as our bond grows.  The Gift of Spirit that God pours into our souls brings strength to come to Him!  This Spirit overpowers fear.  It sets us free to call God our Father!  The Spirit of sonship helps us see past the distractions in our world.  It helps us seek and find our Savior.  It helps us make more our Him and less of the rest.  Shall we pray for more strength from this Spirit to make us God´s children now?

Dear Lord,

Pour out Your Spirit on us so that we can call You our Father!  Please give us strength to approach You!  There in Your Presence we will be safe from any distraction and fear.  Give us Your Spirit to strengthen our walk and our faith we pray!

Amen
