Who Are God´s?

Who Are God´s

In other words, it is not the natural children who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring.  Romans 9:8  NIV

There are trembling worshippers who truly have turned from themselves.  By faith seek to be near God.  These precious few see their need for a Savior.  They refuse to focus on this world.  They ask the Spirit to guide them.  They forever want to know God more.  Scriptures speak of these seekers.  They are called Children of the Promise.  Do we know who really are God´s?  Are we?

Fewer questions come even close to being as important as knowing the answer to our personal standing with God.  After hearing so much of stubborn Pharisees or Jews who persecuted Christ and His followers, it may surprise us today to still find individuals or organizations that would criticize others for looking to God.  Threatened by the thought of someone from outside of their exclusive fold, people will still oppose the heart that refuses to cling to anything here on earth.  But the true children of God are the ones who will face their brother´s criticism.  They are more concerned with working out with their Maker and their Redeemer, whether or not He sees them as His Children of the Promise.  Who do we resemble now?  Do we care to hear from God´s own voice if we are His?  Are we listening?  And how concerned are we?

Dear Lord,

Some will stand on their own confidence.  They may not understand our complete dependence upon You.  Forgive them if they are harsh.  Just let us know we are Yours we pray!

Amen
