Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes, 1st Corinthians 1:1
David was a normal Christian boy. He was born into a Christian home. He heard of God´s call to His lost children. But somehow he always thought it was for poor souls who did not know Jesus. But God has a still small voice that He uses many times to speak to us. He hasn´t withheld it from anyone. He didn´t keep from using it on this unsuspecting young man. David was not at first, accustomed to hearing the voice of God, It took many years and more than a few tears, but there did come a time when he began to listen. Can we hear the Lord calling to us each day?
Life takes its turns. This David had no idea that there would come days as he grew up, where he would chase after much of what the world has to offer. But somewhere deep in the soul of this boy, there was still a call to be of Christ. Like the Apostle Paul, we are all called to belong to Jesus! We are being called right now. It doesn´t matter how long or how far we have roamed. God´s will is for us to draw near. We are to know Jesus as well as we know ourselves or anyone else. Shall we pray that God´s call does not fall on unhearing ears today?
Dear Father in Heaven,
If Your still, small voice is not booming in our ears today, turn up the volume! Let us hear our call now to draw near unto You! Help us to throw off anything that would keep us from walking with You through each of our days, we pray!
