But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 1st Corinthians 1:27 NIV
A small group of friends stood beside the hospital bed of an unconscious brother. It had been three days since fall had left the young man in a coma. They felt completely helpless and concerned. The doctor said that if a change did not happen in his condition soon, there would be increasingly less hope of a full and healthy recovery. They resorted to prayer.
“Where two, or three, are gathered in my name…” They prayed and called on the Lord to move in compassion. As they were praying, a weak voice came from the still body next to them. “I can hear you!” God reached through the coma and woke their friend. It did not happen on the first prayer. They had been praying hard ever since the accident. It was when the only strength available to the concerned friends was hope in the Lord, did the answer come to their prayers. Their weakness placed them before God and His strength to heal was activated. A miracle! God moves! People are amazed! Praise His name! When we are weak we need God! When we need God He is able to show His strength to us. Weak is strong! Are we facing situations where we could lean more completely on the Lord? If we can realize our limitations, might we also witness God´s strength in our weakness?
Teach us again that we need You! Let us need you so much that Your strength can be displayed in our lives we pray!
