However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him” 1st Corinthians 2:9 NIV
From the time he was a toddler, he had been taught that God was preparing a home for him. He could almost see the streets paved with gold and the view out over the sea of glass from the mansion that Christ has gone to prepare for him. As the boy grew into a man the view of his dream house faded. But then God began whispering for the man to come back to Him. He remembered his childhood hope, but now the scene revealed to him was different.
Finally, our friend stepped out of the world´s parade. He began to listen to the words of Jesus. This time the impression that the Spirit had for him was different. As he searched harder and prayed more intently to be shown the Father and the Son, heralds of light began to flood him. The view into eternity overwhelmed him. The Light Jesus shines began to make all the old visions seem faded and dull. Now, instead of scenes of luxurious mansions, the maturing Christian began to realize that the glories and gifts God has to give us are the gifts that come from being in His Presence! Our hope is not in buildings or streets, but being privileged to gaze at the God of Wonders! Could we also seek to experience what it is like to be in that embrace, that life, that God has prepared for us?
Let our every hope be in one day standing before You and beholding You in Awe! Let our hearts thrill with the thought of coming home to live in Your Presence forever, we pray!
