Dare To Take It

Dare To Take It

If any of you has a dispute with another, dare he take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the saints?  1st Corinthians 6:1  NIV

He was a devoted Christian.  He wanted to do his part to help the needy.  He was invited to go to a prison and meet with an inmate there.  So he started going to visit the man.  He wanted to share his faith and be a friend and positive role model.  When the time came for the prisoner to be let out on bail, he came to visit his Christian friend.  After spending some time chatting, the prisoner asked if he could borrow his car.  Wanting to be nice, he handed over his keys.  The next thing he knew he was watching his car from the helicopter cameras on the evening news.  The man on probation was trying to make an escape with the family car.

The escapee was soon captured and returned to jail.  But when the time came for sentencing, the Christian man refused to press charges.  We may forget sometimes that a whole world separates the true Christian from the wayward race around us.  We often think that we must act according to the ways of our society.  But followers of Christ are not called to anything of the sort.  We are called to pick up our cross and demonstrate that our hearts go out to others as our Savior´s heart did before us.

Dear Lord,

Please show us where we are being influenced by the wayward thinking of the world around us.  Keep us focused on You and working hard to have the same heart as You, we pray!
