Not Bound

Not Bound

But if the unbeliever leaves, let him do so. A believing man or woman is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace.  1st Corinthians 7:15  NIV

She just did not understand him.  He believed in the Bible, in creation, and in Salvation through Jesus Christ.  She had her beliefs, but she also carried some bitterness from the dealings of the church over the years.  At times there was tension.  Religion and beliefs were subjects rarely discussed and usually ended in frustration.  He prayed day and night for her.  He was unable to find another way to share his faith.  They had children.  The children grew up with this division.  What could he do?

The Apostle Paul tried to lift our gaze from our difficulties.  He attempted to set our sights upon God.  He wanted to show us that we are for God.  We are to relate ourselves to the Lord first.  Our world is real.  The people we associate with all form part of our lives.  But our task is to shift our attention to God.  Our efforts are to seek the will of God and to find Him.  Evil would keep the focus on lesser issues.  Followers, who are committed to their goal, will keep moving forward in their own walk with the Lord.  God is big!  He can work out all the issue of who is saved or not.  Shall we pray that our walk with Christ is so visible and real, that His Presence can affect those around us?

Dear Lord,

Do not let anything or any relationship here on earth take our eyes or our hearts off of You!  Help us to walk so closely with You that You can reach all Your children through us, we pray!

Amen
